My Approach
-
Nurturing Quality Care
I prioritise providing quality care that is nurturing, structured and creates a safe and secure environment for your child. My approach is centred around being a supportive and caring friend to your child whilst providing appropriate structure and routine. I facilitate fun, age-appropriate, educational activities and routines that incorporate specific play that promotes learning and growth. I am passionate about working with children and have a natural style of warmth and patience. As your child's caregiver, I value the trust you place in me and will go above and beyond to ensure that your child feels safe, happy, and engaged in my care.
-
Social-Emotional Development
My approach is grounded in the belief that co-regulation (supporting a child to calm) is essential for promoting a child’s self-regulation. The strategies I use in my daily care of children are designed to promote socio-emotional development, emotional intelligence, social skills and problem-solving skills, with evidence from leading neuroscientists in the child development field. By nurturing a child’s Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), it is proven to be a critical aspect of promoting their overall development, which has long-term benefits throughout the trajectory of their life.
-
Physical Development
I prioritise play as essential component of a child’s physical development and growth. I enhance and support this through sensory activities such messy play, problem solving, socilising, imaginative open ended play, arts and crafts, and more.. I use my knowledge about your child’s stages of development to plan activities to foster their milestones. For example, during the ego-centric phase (typically between the ages of 3-5), we can engage together in various types of activities that build empathy and perspective.
-
Confidence & Self Expression
At the core of my approach to caring for children is a focus on promoting self-expression and confidence. I achieve this by empowering children with choices when appropriate, utilising Montessori methods, and using descriptive praise to reinforce positive behaviours. I use ‘Blanks Levels of Questioning’, a framework designed to foster key oral language comprehension skills in children. I aim to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel empowered to express themselves and develop their self-confidence.
-
Curious and Kind Response
I respond to children's behaviours with curiosity, seeking to understand the underlying reasons behind their actions. By responding with empathy and understanding, I aim to promote positive behaviours and social-emotional development in children that creates a supportive environment for children to express themselves.
-
Your input is highly valued
I understand and value the significance of your role as a parent in shaping your child's care. In honour of this, I collaborate closely with you to develop a personalised care plan that aligns with your specific preferences. Your input is always valuable, and I am committed to keeping you informed about your child's progress through regular communication. Maintaining confidentiality is paramount to me, and I ensure the privacy and comfort of both you and your children.
-
Daily Report
I provide a personalised report after each visit and adapt my reporting to capture information you wish to know. Typically, families prefer verbal updates on handover about routine (i.e. food/milk amount, sleep times) and an electronic report sent which covers other areas from the day (i.e. activities your child engaged in, photos, a special moment from the day). My goal is to provide you with peace of mind while you are away to maintain a link of connection with your child and keep you informed.

Tailored Curriculum
The Early Years Learning Framework is a play-based learning Framework used in Australia to support and enrich children's learning from birth to 5 years.
Families that engage in my nannying service over 30 hours per week are offered an additional option to have a tailored Curriculum Plan developed for their child in line with The Early Years Learning Framework. To ensure that this curriculum is specific to your child’s needs and interests, the first five days are spent getting to know your child. The curriculum will then be tailored, and ensured to include a range of learning outcomes that focus on all aspects of your child’s wholistic wellbeing and development.
